Judy’s career at the HSOC began almost two decades ago when she and her husband adopted their first rescue that was thought to be a young Dachshund but ended up being a very senior, toothless Chihuahua who stole their hearts. From that moment, Judy knew that she wanted to become involved somehow and ended up as a Saturday volunteer walking dogs and helping with kennels while we were still located at the Animal Control facility. Prior to being elected CEO/Director in 2010, Judy served as First Vice President with responsibility for Fund Raising for 3 years, volunteer coordinator, adoption counselor and dog walker. In her capacity as CEO/Director Judy has responsibility for both Ruth’s Memorial Shelter and Princeton’s Meow, state and local compliance, licensing and reporting and pretty much jumps in wherever there is a need. Judy is a hand’s on administrator actively involved in all aspects of the HSOC and primarily spends her time volunteering at our Ruth’s Memorial Shelter. Judy and her husband, Mike, who is our shelter manager, have five children, five grandchildren and 14 dogs of their own as well as two fosters and reside in Harrisburg.

Brandi started her career with HSOC in 2017, shortly after moving to Concord. She was in college pursuing becoming a zoo keeper for large carnivores but quickly realized her true passion was animal rescue and welfare. Starting out as a kennel technician, Brandi now oversees all administrative aspects as well as the intake and medical care for RMS's canine residents. She's a huge Pitbull and Bully breed lover and advocate, with her first rescue being a Pitbull, Titan, that sat in a shelter for 3 years unwanted. Titan is her heart dog and you'll even see his face tattooed on her forearm. Brandi has two other dogs (Athena & Apollo), two cats (Felix & Oliver), a snake (Piper), and a community of fish. Even though the inn is full, you'll often see her fostering special needs pups and chihuahuas.

Cody’s journey with Princeton’s began as a way to spend time with his friend Vanessa, the director of the cat program, but quickly evolved into a deep commitment to animal welfare. Providing extensive administrative support and assisting with intake nights, Cody’s role also involves testing and pre-vetting cats, although he admits heavy lifting isn’t his favorite part of the gig. Since childhood, Cody has had a profound love for animals, originally aspiring to become a veterinarian. However, after discovering his passion for dog grooming during a summer job, Cody found his calling in making dogs look and feel their best without the challenges of veterinary work. With over 9 years of experience as a groomer, Cody plans to continue this career as long as he's able to. Cody has found a perfect fit with Princeton’s, where he appreciates the supportive community and a place that highlights his individuality as an asset. Alongside his beautiful husband Drew, Cody volunteers and fosters medical, special needs, and hospice cats for Princeton’s. They have a few cats of their own along with a dog. As a counselor, Cody finds immense joy in seeing cats find their forever homes, knowing he plays a vital role in their journey. Guided by Gene Baur’s words, “It’s a small thing to help one animal, but to that one animal it’s a big thing,” Cody finds fulfillment in making a meaningful difference in each animal’s life.
Cody’s favorite type of cat is a tortie with white, appreciating their sassy yet sweet personality that mirrors his own.
