About Us

Established in 1997, the Humane Society of Concord (HSOC) stands as a steadfast 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to animal rescue. Our commitment is exemplified through Ruth's Memorial, our dog facility, and Princeton's Meow, our cat facility. These havens are not open intake facilities; rather, they serve as sanctuaries that extend a lifeline to dogs and cats from local county shelters facing euthanasia, granting them a renewed opportunity at life.

Operating independently of governmental funding, HSOC relies solely on the generosity of donations, grants, and adoption fees to sustain our vital mission. Every contribution directly supports our comprehensive care program, ensuring that each animal in our charge receives essential medical attention and care. From veterinary exams to spaying/neutering, microchipping, vaccinations, monthly preventatives, heartworm treatment, and any necessary medical interventions, we spare no effort in safeguarding their health and well-being.

We invite you to join us in transforming the lives of these remarkable animals. Whether you choose to adopt, volunteer your time, or offer financial support, HSOC welcomes you to become a part of our journey. Together, we can make a profound difference, saving and enhancing the lives of animals in need.

The mission of the Humane Society of Concord & Greater Cabarrus County, N. C. is to end animal suffering and cruelty, reduce overpopulation, and educate the public regarding responsible animal ownership.
