At our dog adoption facility, tails wag and hearts find homes! We strive to match every dog and puppy with their perfect family through a thoughtful adoption process.
Appointments are encouraged to ensure personalized attention, although walk-ins may also be accommodated. Applications can be conveniently completed either in person at our shelter or online through the link below. Online applications take a minimum of 72 hours to process with the team. Each application is carefully reviewed by our dedicated Adoption Counselors, who then conduct an in-person interview to understand the needs and preferences of both the dog and the applicant to ensure a harmonious and loving match for all involved. Some in-person applications may be processed the same day, meaning you could take your new furry friend home with you on the very day you visit! Please make sure to bring your current veterinarian records and lease information if you rent!

Discover your purr-fect match at Princeton's Meow! Our adoption process ensures that every cat finds the right home.
While the public is welcome to visit during open hours, we prioritize the well-being of our cats by requiring preapproval for any adoptions. We encourage all prospective pet parents to apply for preapproval before visiting to streamline the process. The link to the online application for our kitties can be found below. Our online application process allows our Adoption Counselors to thoroughly review each application, typically within 72 hours. Applicants will be promptly notified of their application status. Once approved, you can schedule an appointment to meet your potential new family member and complete the adoption process.
Adoption Fees:
Kittens under 1 year of age: $140
Adults 1 year and up: $125
Make a difference in a cat's life today!
Every animal is seen by our veterinarian for an exam before being placed for adoption, this is included in the adoption fee.
Ruth's Memorial: Vet exam, spay/neuter, microchip, current on age appropriate vaccines, heartworm test (if old enough), heartworm prevention, and deworming.
Princeton's Meow: Vet exam, spay/neuter, microchip, current on age appropriate vaccines, Combo test for FIV/FeLv, flea treatment, and deworming.
Ruth's Memorial: Every dog will need to leave the building in a secured manner such as: leash/collar, harness/collar, Harness Lead (recommended and can be bought during your appointment), or in a travel crate for puppies that cannot yet touch the ground due to their vaccine schedule. NO RETRACTABLE LEASHES.
Princeton's Meow: For the safety and security of every cat and kitten, we require that they be transported from the building in carriers. We offer cardboard carriers for purchase at $10 each to ensure a secure journey to their new homes.
Ruth's Memorial: We encourage pet parents to bring their current dog(s) for a meet and greet to facilitate harmonious introductions with our dogs. We do require that you provide documentation of vaccines to ensure a safe interaction. For the safety of all, puppies that have not completed their vaccine series are unable to participate in nose-to-nose meet and greets with other animals. Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to conduct cat testing. Additionally, please note that we do not offer sleepovers due to liability and safety concerns.
Princeton's Meow: While you cannot bring your current four legged friend to our facility for a meet and greet we provide sleepovers for adult cats under specific circumstances. These include: uncertain experiences with dogs, the presence of another cat at home, or potential severe allergies. Each case is assessed individually to ensure the best match and transition for both the cat and the adopting family.
At our organization, we do not accept holds or deposits on any animal. Rather than operating on a "first come, first served" basis, we prioritize approved applications that best suit the needs of the animal. This policy ensures that each pet has a fair chance to find their ideal home promptly. Allowing holds or deposits risks delaying the adoption process, potentially causing animals to miss out on opportunities with other potential adopters if plans change.
